Crane rollover case study
Hannah Prouse will give an illustrated explanatory incident analysis of the 2018 rollover of a 16 tonne crane in Altona, Victoria, with insight into key factors for engineers to look for in mobile crane rollovers.
Hannah has an extensive background in the crane, lifting, and capital equipment industries. Specialising in mobile cranes and travel towers, before joining Dohrmann Consulting she held a CraneSafe endorsement, allowing her to conduct annual inspections and carry out engineering testing and assessments for major inspections, ensuring compliance and safety standards were met.
Hannah has also conducted extensive audits for both mobile and fixed plant safety and access compliance.
Hannah briefly ventured into the arts industry, but has returned to her true passion - forensic engineering.
Some examples of her previous work includes:
· Assessment and repair recommendations on mobile cranes involved in overturning, structural failures, fires, and road incidents;
· Assessment and report of 60m travel tower for ADR and HVNL compliance;
· Assisting in complex incident investigations and expert opinions relating to cranes and other high risk plant;
· Advice on design work period assessments, Major Inspection, periodic inspection, fleet ageing studies and reclassification of cranes & lifting equipment.
· Auditing conveyors, machinery guarding and steel/concrete structures at mines and manufacturing sites for structural integrity, and compliance with AS4024 and AS1755.
