Session 1: Practising under Covid19 restrictions

A short open forum for members to share their experiences and guidance on maintaining services under the current Covid19 restrictions.

What can we inspect? What is happening with court & tribunal orders?  Where can we use remote viewing etc….

Session 2: Rocket science, Smoke and Mirrors, The Challenger Physicist & basic engineering, Presented by Geoff Fletcher

The Challenger space shuttle launch failed catastrophically on 28/01/86. Then USA President Reagan created the Rogers Commission to report on what happened, why & how to prevent any recurrence. To report that the cause was a failed O-ring was much simpler & less controversial than reporting on the contributing circumstances for that O-ring. One Commission member - theoretical physicist Richard Feynman - challenged committee processes and the Chairman to conduct his own inquiry and was astounded by failures in understanding of elementary science by senior NASA managers and their failure to heed what their engineers were telling them. His was truly a triumph of forensic engineering.
