We are opening the FESA year on Thursday 24 February with a dinner, discussion and presentation at the Auburn Hotel, Hawthorn. The topic is "Working with lawyers - tips, tricks and traps" - a joint presentation by your president Patrick Irwin & lawyer Leslie Schwarz. They will take you through all steps of our process, from initial enquiry, appointment, engagement, appearance work, invoicing and payment. This subject touches us all.
Patrick is known to you as an expert structural engineer with extensive experience in many jurisdictions. Les has had more than 35 years of experience (including 12 years experience as a barrister) in litigation, and has acted for both local and overseas clients including individuals, companies, insurers and owners corporations in all jurisdictions in Australia. He is a member of the Building Appeals Board (BAB) and the Architect Registration Board of Victoria. He hears disputes and appeals, working together with other building experts.
