Judge Anthony Kelly will speak about expert witnesses – what’s expected, how to do it well, and traps to avoid. Judge Kelly was appointed to the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in February 2017, and will speak at FESA’s May 24 meeting at Hawthorn, Melbourne. He was a barrister for nearly 30 years, including ten as a QC, practicing in matters dealing with international arbitration, construction, engineering, professional indemnity, product liability. Joint ventures, managed investment schemes and corporate insolvency. Known for his meticulous preparation for examining expert witnesses, he once obtained from the US and read a 700 page book on fire science. He has been a successful racehorse owner (notably Panta), he loves books, and he gives generously of his time as a mentor in his profession.
